Kenny Pennington, Director Company Development
Kenny is a prison survivor. He was born and raised in West Phoenix. Kenny works at a large, local, residential plumbing company with his brother Jess. Kenny is a certified firefighter. He has fought fires for the past 5 seasons and will be going back into the field this season again.
Kenny spent 16 years in prison. His time inside ignited a true passion for helping people, particularly helping them stay out of the prison system. He strongly believes that it is not an all or nothing situation and that if you give prison survivors the tools they need, they can successfully reintegrate. Kenny naturally gravitates toward the role of mentor and sees this role as an essential component of successful reintegration. He attributes much of his success in reentry to having found a strong role model in his brother, Jess, who showed Kenny what it meant to be a man of integrity. It is this wisdom that Kenny can pass on to those beginning their reentry journey. Kenny is an avid runner. He and Jonathon are planning one of ATLaS’ initial fundraisers: The Run From Hell, a 5K run in 2017. Keep an eye out for details! |
